Borobudur Temple, Mendhut Temple, and Pawon Temple are Buddhist temples built by King Samaratungga of the Syailendra dynasty in the 8th century. The three Buddhist temples have reliefs that tell the life of the Buddha’s reincarnation or better known as Jataka and Lalitavistara stories. Borobudur Temple and Pawon Temple are located in Borobudur district, while Mendhut Temple in Mungkid subdistrict, 3 kilometers eastward of Borobudur Temple.
Selogriyo temple is located on Sukorini Hill east of Mount Sumbing in Windusari district. Selogriyo means a house of stone and has a statue as a manifestation of gods on the side of the temple.
Ngawen Temple is located in Ngawen Village, Muntilan District. As mentioned in the Karang Tengah Inscription (824 AD), this temple was built in the 8th century by the Syailendra dynasty. Ngawen temple has 5 small temple which every corner is decorated by lion statue guard of temple and monastery.
Borobudur temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the world built by King Samaratungga, descendent of Wangsa Syailendra, from 762 to 824 AD Borobudur temple building in the form of punden berundak consisting of 10 levels. Each level represents the stages of human life. The six lowest levels are square and the upper levels are circular, and the highest level is a Buddhist stupa facing west.
This bath is located in the village of Kartoharjo and is a relic of the Syailendra dynasty. According to the story, Umbul Temple is the bathing place of the princesses of the king after doing activities at Borobudur Temple. Until now, Water Candi Umbul is still believed to be useful to beautify themselves because it contains saprophyl substances.
Located in the Tingal Pondok Complex in Wanurejo Village, Borobudur District, about 500 meters from Borobudur Temple. Puppet collection in this museum comes from various regions in Indonesia such as Java, Bali, and Lombok. There are also collections from abroad that come from Cambodia, China and Turkey. In addition, 694 titles of books on wayang with various languages, 83 tapes of wayang tapes from 1971 to 1944, and 59 videotapes of wayang performances from 1980 to 1990.
Magelang Regency has 4 guided villages and one tourist village is Candirejo Village. The concept of developing this tourist village is community-based tourism. Nature tourism, arts and culture, and education became the attraction of Candirejo Village. There is an ancient temple which supposedly surrounds Borobudur Temple, before the eruption of Mount Merapi in 1006. This lake can be seen from the cliffs of Sileng River. Candirejo Tourism Village is located 3 km southeast of Borobudur Temple.
Punthuk Setumbu is a tourist attraction located in Karangrejo Village, Borobudur District. It is one of the best spots to see the sunrise against the backdrop of Merbabu Mountain and the frozen Borobudur Temple.
Being on the border of Magelang and Boyolali districts of Wonolelo Village and flanked by Mount Merbabu and Mount Merapi make this waterfall has a charming panorama. Waterfall located at an altitude of 400 masl has a height of about 40 meters.
Curug Waterfall Silawe is located Sutopati Village, District Kajoran. Located at an altitude of 50 masl on the southern slope of Mount Sumbing. The cool air and the scenery of the charming pine forest are the main attraction.

Ketep Pass is 30 km from Magelang City and 30 km from Borobudur Temple.
